£100K grant for innovative environment project

Hart District Council has been awarded a £100,000 grant from the Natural Environment Investment Readiness Fund (NEIRF). The funding is awarded to innovative projects that tackle climate change and drive private investment in nature.

Fleet Pond retains green flag

Fleet Pond Nature Reserve has been recognised by the Green Flag Award Scheme as one of the very best in the UK. The Pond joins Hartley Wintney Central Commons and Elvetham Heath Local Nature Reserve to claim this award for the 11th year in a row.

Use military land responsibly, public urged

 Members of the public are being asked to use local Ministry of Defence (MOD) land responsibly over the summer. 

This follows a series of incidents of antisocial behaviour and parties, fires and unauthorised vehicles on MOD land across Rushmoor and Hart. 

Students Stay and Think Safe in Hart

Over 1,700 students took part in community safety events, Stay Safe and Think Safe, coordinated by Hart District Council.   

The events saw students from across Hart take part in workshops, throughout June and into July, covering topics that not only could impact them but also impact the community.

Fleet Pond Corridor is complete

Improvements at Fleet Pond are now open for the public to enjoy.

Fleet Pond’s access road and car park are finished marking the opening of the Fleet Pond Corridor, following the successful completion of phase one, the new 3-metre-wide path running alongside Fleet’s train station.

Free membership for children in care

The Met Office Amber Warning for heat has now passed and temperatures have stabilised to more seasonal levels.

Therefore we, together with our waste collection contractor Serco, have taken the decision to return to our usual bin collection start time of 6:30am from Monday 25 July.

Rushmoor and Hart approve plans to work together more closely

Rushmoor Borough Council and Hart District Council Cabinets have backed plans for the councils to work together more closely.

Councillors at each Cabinet meeting this week, agreed a Joint Working Together Statement, outlining an ambition to share a Chief Executive and to build on and increase the number of services shared between the councils.

Road closure warning: A323 Fleet Road

A section of the A323 Fleet Road (between the roundabouts either side of the railway bridge in Fleet) will be closed to allow for works on behalf of South East Water as part of their Water Main Installation Project between Fleet and Odiham from 25 July 2022 - for appr
