Intermediate rent / Rent to Buy

There are currently no intermediate rent / Rent to Buy schemes in Hart. 

These schemes help people to save for a deposit to buy a home by offering properties at a discount.

The rents are set around 20% cheaper than if they were on the open market. For most schemes you would be expected to use the reduced rent to save towards a deposit to buy the home you are renting, or another home through a low-cost home ownership scheme. This is known as Rent to Buy. 

These schemes are usually available on new-build properties and an affordability check would be carried out to make sure you could afford the monthly rent.

Providers such as RentPlus offer this option and other housing associations also operate the scheme from time to time.
