Options for older people

Homes include mainly apartments, plus some bungalows and houses, with one- and two-bedroom options. Many are near shops and other facilities. Moving can reduce bills and the upkeep of a larger property, while offering your own home, nearby facilities and a friendly community. The following options offer different homes and support to suit your needs and may be the perfect fit for your new home.

Age-restricted housing

Usually for people aged 55+, age-restricted housing offers a safe, peaceful community with neighbours of a similar age. Shared outdoor spaces mean no private garden to maintain, while resident lounges provide space to socialise or celebrate with family. Most schemes allow pets. Homes often have walk-in showers and lifts, and some include emergency call systems. 

Sheltered-style housing

Similar to age-restricted housing, sheltered-style housing supports independent living with emergency call systems for reassurance. Some schemes have staff on site during working hours to answer housing queries. Shared facilities include lounges with optional social activities, gardens, reading and computer rooms, and salons with visiting hairdressers. 

Extra-care housing

Campbell Place in Fleet is Hart’s only extra-care scheme. It supports people aged 60+ with care and support needs to live independently in their own homes. Visiting staff answer queries during working hours. Care staff are on site 24 hours a day, seven days a week for planned care, support and emergencies. You have your own front door and tenancy in a safe, supportive setting near shops and facilities. Friends and family can visit freely, with a guest suite for overnight family stays. Facilities include a bistro serving two-course meals (some included in the service charge), a hair salon, shared gardens, private balconies and patios, and a lounge with optional social activities. Lifts and wetrooms in every home support independent living.
