Smart Move allows you to move to another housing association owned home within the Hart district which may be owned by your current landlord or another housing association. You may also be eligible for support when moving to a new home that’s not owned by a housing association if agreed on a case-by-case basis.
You're able to either move to a new home which is designed for older people because it's age restricted (for people aged 55+) or provides support for peace of mind, or to a house, flat or bungalow within a mixed community where you'll live alongside different types of households and ages. The choice is yours.
Support through Smart Move is available if any property that you move to has at least one bedroom fewer than your current home, meaning that you can still have a spare bedroom for family and friends to stay when they visit.
