Flood Prevention Schemes
Kingsway Flood Protection Scheme
We're aware that Kingsway was affected by flooding in 1990, 2000, 2001, 2007 and 2021. The Council is looking to provide the highest risk properties with the chance to have passive Property Flood Resistant measures fitted free of charge.
Property Flood Resistance measures are specially designed products that can be retrofitted to an existing building to reduce flood waters getting inside. They work by identifying how water could get into the building and then blocking these routes in.
View the Flood Protection Leaflet for more information on how these defences can fit into your home.
Drop-in event - 16 July
We would like to invite residents of Kingsway to a drop-in event on 16 July 12 - 8pm, at:
The Meeting Room
Memorial Hall
Blackwater and Hawley Leisure Centre
Hawley Green (off Fernhill Road)
Blackwater
GU17 9BW
The event will allow you to see examples of property flood resilience measures, ask any questions about these products or the scheme and register your expression of interest in receiving flood protection if you haven’t already done so.
View the event map for more detail on the location.
Expression of Interest Form
If you can't make the event but are still interested in being included in the scheme, then fill out the Expression of Interest Form and send on to drainage@hart.gov.uk.
If you have any issues filling out this form please email drainage@hart.gov.uk.
