What benefit fraud is and how to report it
Benefit fraud is where people claim any benefit, including Housing Benefit, that they are not entitled to receive.
Anyone who knowingly does not declare their true circumstances when receiving benefits is committing fraud.
Examples of this type of fraud include a failure to declare that they work or that a partner lives with them.
You must tell us if your circumstance change as this could affect how much benefit you receive. This may include a change of address, a new job or if someone moves in to your property.
