Local Government Ombudsman

If you’re still unhappy with our reply to your Stage 2 complaint, you can ask the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman to review your complaint.

The Ombudsman service is impartial and free to use and acts independently of the Council. It can investigate complaints about most council services, even if the service is outsourced to another organisation. It cannot investigate certain complaints, e.g. if you have left it more than 12 months since knowing about the problem.

The Ombudsman will send a final decision to both you and us.
