All councillors in Hart district are governed by a code of conduct.

It covers a broad range of councillor behaviour, including:

  • not abusing their position
  • not misusing resources

Breaches of the code

If you believe a district, town or parish councillor in Hart has breached the code of conduct, you can submit a complaint to the Monitoring Officer.

You should complete the complaint form. Alternatively, you can email our Monitoring Officer at enquiries@hart.gov.uk.  

Arrangements for dealing with allegations sets out how the Monitoring Officer will process a complaint.
