We’re calling on the community to supports our new Pride in Place campaign to enhance the visual appeal, safety and cleanliness of our public spaces.
The initiative aims to encourage residents and businesses to take pride in their district and work towards making Hart a better place to live, work and visit.
The campaign will target removing unauthorised advertisements and unsightly banners, especially where they pose a safety concern, clean up graffiti and continue to take enforcement action against anti-social behaviour such as littering, dog fouling and smoking in smoke-free places.
The community can support by reporting unsightly areas or graffiti for the Council team to tackle and to help keep Hart clean and tidy. In the autumn, there are plans for a Big Clean Day when businesses, schools, residents and community groups will be urged to get involved. More details to come!
Councillor Tina Collins, portfolio holder for Community Safety and Regulatory Services, said: “Keeping our streets, parks, play areas and countryside clean and tidy is a key priority for us at the Council, but we can all play our part to reduce litter and stamp out anti-social acts like graffiti and dog fouling.
“We hope the community will get behind us - we’re lucky to live in such a green and scenic area and we all share the responsibility of looking after Hart.”
You can report incidents of graffiti, flyposting and flytipping through Hart’s FixMyStreet service.
Help keep Hart tidy
- Always put litter in a bin.
- Recycle where possible.
- Do not throw litter from cars/vehicles as this affects our roads, countryside and natural habitats for wildlife.
- Encourage children, friends and family to put their litter in a bin or take their rubbish home with them.
- Remember, dropping litter, including food waste, cigarette stubs and chewing gum, is an offence with a £100 fine.
