Introduction

You need a licence if you run a business that houses other people's dogs. This includes businesses run from a private home. This is the standard licence.

You will need to apply for a licence if you are a franchise operator or arrange for the provision of accommodation for other people's dogs. This is the arranger's licence.

You don't need a licence if you:

  • run a business that looks after a dog where it normally lives. An example of this could be dog walkers or pet sitters
  • are someone who looks after specific dogs for a friend or relative’s pets

To complete this form, you will need to provide:

  • your contact details
  • details of your business
