Council Constitution
How we're organised, how we operate and what your rights are
We are committed to efficient and effective decision-making which is transparent and accountable and encourages people in the community to get involved.
To guide us in these aims, we have developed a Council Constitution.
It contains:
- details of our decision-making structures and processes
- standing orders or rules that govern how meetings are conducted
- a Scheme of Delegation to Officers, which details functions of the Council that have been delegated to officers
- financial regulations for how the Council must conduct its financial business
- various codes, including the Code of Conduct for Members and the Officer/Member Relations Code
