Recycling sites
You can dispose of various items at recycling bring sites across Hart
Recycling bring sites
There are recycling sites across Hart offering a wide variety of recycling options including textiles, footwear, small waste electrical items and foil.
Batteries
Shops selling more than 32 kg of batteries per year must provide battery recycling facilities in their store. This means there are lots of places, such as supermarkets and DIY stores, where you can take your old batteries for recycling.
Glass
To order glass recycling containers, please see our Glass recycling page.
Household waste recycling centres
The Household Waste and Recycling Centres in Hampshire are run by Hampshire County Council and residents can use any of these sites. You must book an appointment to dispose of your items. Visit the Hampshire County Council website for more information.
Mixed plastics
We have installed temporary recycling banks for mixed plastics at five local sites to help you to recycle more if you want to. A local company has been sourced to collect and recycle these items through sustainable markets.
Hampshire County Council is building a new sorting facility which will allow us to collect more recyclable items from homes including plastic pots, tubs, trays, tubes and cartons from 2028. We cannot collect these items from your recycling bins at home at the moment because they cannot be sorted and processed by the county council's current sorting facility.
If you do want to recycle these items now, you can use the mixed plastics banks at the following sites:
- Church Road Car Park, Church Road, Fleet GU51 4LY
- Monachus Lane Car Park, Monachus Lane, Hartley Wintney, Hook
RG27 8NP - Crossways Manor Car Park, Reading Road, Hook RG27 9EA
- Deer Park View Car Park, Deer Park View Odiham, Hook RG29 1JY
- Hawley Memorial Hall, Hawley Green, Blackwater GU17 9BW
