Support organisations across Hart have been awarded almost £50,000 by the Council to help residents struggling to make ends meet this winter.
The Cost of Living Support Scheme has funded 16 groups and charities which help ease cost of living pressures and boost wellbeing in local communities.
Projects include food pantries and parcels, cooking sessions, debt advice services and warm and welcoming spaces.
Councillor Peter Wildsmith, portfolio holder for Communities, said “We understand for many that this is still a challenging time and the additional funding ensures that residents are being supported where it matters most.
“Our local groups are a lifeline for families and individuals in need, worried about getting by this winter. They make a real difference on the ground and create opportunities for our communities.”
Local organisations and charities were invited to apply for grants of up to £5,000 throughout November. In total £49,983 was awarded. Read more details on each project on our cost of living support grants page.
This latest grant follows similar schemes run by the Council over the last two winters which helped community groups deliver vital services and create welcoming spaces for residents.
