Remembrance Sunday, which falls on Sunday 12 November 2023, is a national opportunity to remember the service and sacrifice of all those that have defended our freedoms and protected our way of life.
We remember the Armed Forces, and their families, from Britain and the Commonwealth, the vital role played by the emergency services and those who have lost their lives as a result of conflict or terrorism.
Armistice Day on Saturday 11 November 2023 commemorates the signing of the Armistice which brought an end to the First World War and remembers all those who gave their lives in service to their country since 1914.
There are a number of events across Hart to mark the occasions:
Church Crookham and Fleet
Armistice Day - Saturday 11 November 2023
- 11.00am: Two minutes’ silence at The War Memorial, Gally Hill Road, Church Crookham.
- 11.00am: Two minutes’ silence at The War Memorial, Gurkha Square, Fleet. Attended by Councillor Peter Wildsmith, Chairman of Hart District Council.

- 10.45am: Act of Remembrance and wreath-laying at The War Memorial, Gally Hill Road, Church Crookham. Attended by Councillor Peter Wildsmith, Chairman of Hart District Council.
- 11.00am: Two minutes’ silence at The War Memorial, Gurkha Square, Fleet.
- 2.30pm: Service of Remembrance at All Saints Church, Church Road, Fleet, followed by Parade. Attended by Councillor Peter Wildsmith, Chairman of Hart District Council.
- 3.20pm: Parade from Church Road Car Park to Gurkha Square, Fleet for Act of Remembrance and wreath-laying. Attended by Deputy Lieutenant of Hampshire Major Mani Rai MBE DL
Followed by refreshments at The Harlington.

- 10.55am: Act of Remembrance, followed by service at Holy Trinity Church
Odiham

Yateley
Remembrance Concert – Friday 10 November 2023
