The Hart ranger team have officially adopted an extra area of green space from the Berkeley Group, that will provide an extension to Edenbrook Country Park.
The area is made up of two beautiful meadows, with the River Hart running alongside. There are also some lovely woodland areas and a trim trail near Hart Leisure Centre. The area will be managed to benefit wildlife, as well as people, providing a long and peaceful walking route to connect to the larger Country Park.
Berkeley Homes purchased the land to offset local development. The area will be managed as a Site of Alternative Natural Greenspace in perpetuity, managed by Hart District Council and funded through the Berkeley Group funding contributions. There is a brand-new car park off Hitches Lane, with easy access straight on to the meadows or it is a short and easy walk from the main car park off The Brambles. There is also a nearby bus stop on Hitches Lane, for the 410 and 610 buses.
The wider Edenbrook Country Park offers 82 acres of green space, including meadows, ponds, boardwalks, WWII pillboxes and plenty of wildlife. There is also an ‘active area’ with mountain bike trails, a BMX pump track, a multi-wheeled track (perfect for little scooters), graffiti wall and calisthenics. There really is something for all the family at this beautiful park, so please go out and explore!
