New Chair and Cabinet members for Hart

Stuart Bailey Chair

A new Chair and Vice-Chair were elected for 2026/27 at the Hart District Council Annual General Meeting on Thursday 21 May. The Cabinet members and Chairs of Hart District Council Committees were also appointed.

Councillor Stuart Bailey (pictured) was elected as Chair of the Council and Councillor Gill Butler as Vice-Chair.

The Cabinet Members are:

  • Leader - Councillor David Neighbour
  • Finance and Deputy Leader - Councillor James Radley
  • Digital and Communications - Councillor Tony Clarke 
  • Planning Policy - Councillor Graham Cockarill
  • Community Safety and Regulatory Services - Councillor Tina Collins
  • Development Management - Councillor Alan Oliver
  • Climate Change and Corporate Services - Councillor Richard Quarterman
  • Housing and Community Services - Councillor Peter Wildsmith

There are 33 seats on the Council, currently made up of 13 Liberal Democrats, 11 Community Campaign Hart (CCH), eight Conservatives and one Independent. 

Following the local elections on Thursday 7 May two new councillors were elected – Ann Baty for Hook and Pam Hardy for Blackwater and Hawley.
