Moment of silence to mark first anniversary of war in Ukraine

Ukrainian flag

We shall be holding a one-minute silence at 11am on Friday 24 February to mark the first anniversary of the war in Ukraine.

Councillor Jane Worlock, Chairman of the Council, and Daryl Phillips, Chief Executive, will join with Ukrainian guests in the Council courtyard by the flagpole which is flying the Ukrainian flag for the month of February.

This moment of reflection will offer our community the chance to pay tribute to the courage of the Ukrainian people.

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport has also announced a national one-minute silence on 24 February, led by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
