CCTV coverage across Hart has been strengthened with the move this month to the Safer Runnymede monitoring centre.

The new service operates 41 cameras across Fleet, Yateley, Blackwater, Hook and Hartley Wintney recording 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Runnymede control centre will play a key role in helping the deployment of police resources across Hart, providing support at incidents and securing key evidence.

Councillor Stuart Bailey, portfolio holder for community at Hart District Council, said: “The safety of Hart residents is a number one priority and CCTV is a powerful tool for combating crime and antisocial behaviour.

“Our move to Safer Runnymede gives us the opportunity to improve and extend our coverage across the district with 24/7monitoring and recording across 41 cameras, together with out of hours support for key services. We will also be working with Safer Runnymede to consider further improvements and upgrades.”

Hart’s Community safety team continues to work with our partners to address local problems and the new CCTV coverage will help the service to reduce crime and promote public safety in partnership with the police.
