We’re lucky here in Hart to be home to many fantastic small businesses who play a vital role in our local economy. This Saturday 6 December we’re offering free parking in all Council car parks to support these on Small Business Saturday.
When you shop small you benefit your community, and there has never been a better time to visit local businesses. Buying Christmas gifts from Hart’s small retailers or enjoying a meal at one of our excellent independent cafes or restaurants this Small Business Saturday is an easy way to show your support.
Councillor Alan Oliver, Portfolio Holder for Development Management and Waste Services, said: “We’re delighted to again be supporting Small Business Saturday by offering free parking across our district. We have many wonderful small businesses on our doorstep offering unique gifts, delicious dining and more. How many could you visit this weekend?”
The free parking is available between 8am and midnight in all available Hart District Council car parks. A list of included car parks can be found on our parking pages.
Gurkha Square car park in Fleet hosts Fleet Market every Saturday and is closed from midnight on Friday evening until the market is cleared in late afternoon on Saturday. You can still enjoy free parking in Gurkha Square in the evening to visit the bars and restaurants of Fleet. If visiting the market, the other nearby Council car parks will be free of charge to park for the day.
Small Business Saturday UK is a grassroots, non-commercial campaign, which highlights and celebrates small business success and encourages consumers to 'shop local' and support small businesses in their communities. It takes place on the first Saturday in December each year, but the campaign aims to have a lasting impact on small businesses.
