Hart District Council is very pleased that the Government has offered to support our ambitious plans to invest in our community with funding through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

The Fund is a central pillar of the UK Government’s Levelling Up agenda to build pride in place and increase life chances across the UK.

The Council has received £1 million (and £20k capacity funding) for community-based projects. The funding is staggered over three years: £59,708 is allocated in 2022/23, £79,417 in 2023/24 and £880,875 in 2024/25.

Councillor David Neighbour, Leader of Hart District Council and Portfolio Holder for Strategic Direction and Partnerships, said: “We welcome this announcement of funding as it shows the Government’s ongoing commitment and support for our communities.

“With the support of key stakeholders, we have identified a number of projects which aim to level up our communities across the district. These projects will make a real difference on the ground and create opportunities for all.”

The UK Shared Prosperity Fund will provide £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025. Underneath the overarching aim of building pride in place and increasing life chances, there are three investment priorities: communities and place; supporting local business; and people and skills.
