In Hart we are fortunate to have a rich diversity of trees and significant woodland cover compared with other parts of the country.

Hart as a whole has 28.5% of tree canopy cover, way above the national average of 16%.

Trees play a vital role in helping us:

• combat climate change
• reduce temperatures in our towns and cities when the weather’s hot
• capture and store carbon
• slow down rainwater which reduces flooding and nutrient loss from our soils

We manage Council-owned trees across our commons and open spaces. We also assess applications for works to protected trees and high hedges.
