What is safeguarding and how to raise a concern
At Hart District Council, we are committed to promoting the safety and wellbeing of all children, young people and adults. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and we believe that everyone has the right to live free from abuse and neglect.
Safeguarding is the action taken to protect individuals from abuse, harm or neglect. It involves identifying and responding to concerns, raising awareness and working together to ensure people are safe and supported, particularly those who are vulnerable or at risk.
Together, we can help protect those at risk and ensure a safer community for everyone.
Abuse is any action that causes harm to another person. It can take many forms, including:
If you are concerned that a child is at risk of harm, please contact the Hampshire Safeguarding Children Partnership
If you are concerned about the safety or wellbeing of an adult, please contact the Hampshire Safeguarding Adults Board
If someone is in immediate danger, call 999
