Free prescriptions
You can get free NHS prescriptions if you:
- are 60 or over
- are under 16
- are 16 to 18 and inf full-time education
- are pregnant
- have a specified medical condition, including cancer and diabetes
- receive certain benefits such as Income Support or Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance

Prepayment scheme
If you are struggling with paying for regular prescriptions, you can apply for a prescription prepayment certificate to help you save money. It covers all your NHS prescriptions, including NHS dental prescriptions, no matter how many items you need.
