For information relating to street naming and numbering in Hart, please see our Street Naming & Numbering Policy. The Legislation relating to street naming and numbering is in accordance with The Towns Improvement Clauses Act 1847 and Public Health Act 1907.

Please note street name plates (erection, repair, maintenance and replacement) are the responsibility of our Infrastructure team who can be contacted via On new developments, the developer is responsible for arranging the erection of street name plates.

Ordnance Survey collates data from a combination of Royal Mail or on-the -ground investigations and surveys. It can frequently take up to six months before a new development appears on their maps. If there is only a small amount of change only permanent features are surveyed and displayed, conservatories are not always displayed. Renaming a street: £270

New Development

First Plot: £190
Each additional plot (up to 20): £40
Each additional plot (plots 21 and above): £20

Subsequent changes before completion of new developments will be charged at the same rates as above, per request.
