Apply for a gambling premises licence

You can apply for a premises licence as an individual or as a company or partnership. You must have the right to occupy the premises where the proposed activities will take place.

You must be over 18 and hold an operating licence for the proposed activities. Please go to the Gambling Commission website for information about how to apply for an operating licence.

Track owners who wish to offer betting facilities themselves (rather than through an on-site betting operator) must apply for an operating licence.

Only one premises licence may be issued for any particular premises at any time. However, the licence may authorise more than one type of gambling.

Tracks may be subject to more than one premises licence if the licence applies to a specific area of the track. In this instance, the owner of the track does not have to apply for an operating licence.
