The job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly capable Principal Policy Planner in Hart District Council’s Planning Policy and Economic Development Team.  

We are embarking on a new local plan for Hart to be prepared at pace under the new local plan-making system.  We are keen to attract a great applicant to help us achieve this, and we would consider a market supplement for the right candidate.

The key requirements for the role are:

  • A current member of the RTPI  
  • Demonstrable and wide-ranging post qualification experience in planning policy / local plan preparation

The job

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Community Directorate for a proactive and community-focused Community Project Officer. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by supporting and delivering initiatives that benefit the local community.

The role involves developing partnerships, coordinating health and wellbeing projects, supporting community events and identifying grant funding opportunities. Ideal for someone passionate about community development and skilled in collaboration and project coordination.

The applicant

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Passionate about community development and partnership working.
  • An excellent communicator with strong organisational skills.
  • Experienced in managing or supporting community-based projects.
  • Confident in working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.

The key responsibilities of the Community Projects Officer are as follows:

  • Assisting in the development of joint working with a range of partners organisations to facilitate community support
  • Arranging and administrating forums relevant to community engagement.
  • Planning, organising and arranging meetings as well as administering meetings when needed.
  • Researching, reviewing and assessing best practice when working with community groups.
  • Researching, reviewing and assessing various grant support funding streams.
  • Assisting in the development of relevant strategies.
  • Responsibility for monitoring your projects against strategies and plans, as identified by the Head of Service
  • Providing analysis and reporting on key data as required.
  • Supporting specific projects identified by the Head of Service.
  • Working and collaborating on a wide variety of projects across different areas of the organisation.
  • Confidently managing projects.
  • Working creatively to help support with the engagement of the local community.
  • Providing a high-quality service for our residents, staff, managers, and external partners.
