View sought on new resource for Hart businesses

The Council has launched a new survey to find out if Hart businesses would be interested in a new e-commerce platform designed to bring traders and customers together.

Funding for the initiative would come from the Government’s Welcome Back Fund which is providing councils across England with a share of £56 million to support the safe return to high streets and help build back better from the pandemic.

The platform would be an online website enabling businesses to reach a wider pool of customers and extend their online visibility. Membership would be free for the first 12 months.

The platform will allow shoppers to browse, book and buy from their local businesses at their convenience. The aim of the site isn’t to generate more online customers but to create a community of local shoppers who can opt to buy locally in the way they choose.

The aim of our survey is to find out if businesses would be keen to be part of this online platform and to garner ideas on how the platform could be funded after the first free 12 months.

The survey will take less than 5 minutes to complete and closes on Friday 24 September. You can complete the survey at
