New Chairman for Hart District Council

Following the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at the Civic Offices on Thursday 17 May, the new Chairman and Vice Chairman were elected. The Cabinet Members and Chairmen of five Hart District Council Committees were also appointed.

The Council has 33 seats, made up of 15 Conservative, 10 Community Campaign Hart (CCH) and 8 Liberal Democrats.

Councillor Wendy Makepeace-Browne was elected as Chairman of the Council with Councillor Sharyn Wheale being elected as Vice Chairman.

Speaking at the meeting, Councillor Makepeace-Browne said: “I am thrilled to have been elected as the Chairman of Hart District Council for the coming municipal year, it seems fitting that Hart has a female Chairman this year, as the UK celebrates 100 years of women getting the vote. I hope to be able to do justice to the role and I plan to hold some fun and interesting events as part of my charity work.”

Following the meeting the Hart District Council Cabinet was confirmed. The Cabinet Members have remained the same with the exception of Councillor Adrian Collett who stepped down at this year’s local election.
