Hart District Council and Hart Voluntary Action have teamed up with a range of local groups and services to organise a special Wellbeing Day for all ages on Friday 19 January 2018.
People can come along to Hart Shopping Centre in Fleet any time between 10am and 3pm to get tips and support to help them make a change for better health and wellbeing in 2018.
Speaking about the event, Cllr Stuart Bailey, Cabinet lead for Health & Wellbeing at Hart District Council said: “Every year many of us make healthy New Year’s resolutions - maybe to lose weight, quit smoking, or meet new people – but good intentions can be forgotten when we return to our normal routine in January. We’ve linked up with the national ONE YOU campaign to encourage and support people to make manageable changes in 2018. This event is a great opportunity for people to find out about the support and opportunities available to help them turn their resolutions in to reality.”
Stalls will be available on topics such as healthy lifestyles, emotional wellbeing and mental health, and local activities. Free NHS Health Checks will also be offered for people aged 40-74, eligibility criteria apply.
Sue Vincent at Hart Voluntary Action said: “There are so many groups and activities for people to get involved with in Hart but often, in the first instance, they just need a little help in exploring what’s out there. This event aims to help people find the right direction and maybe even support them in sticking to those 2018 resolutions!”
