Leisure centres in Hart are celebrating a successful reopening period after seeing many new and returning members through its doors.
Hart Leisure Centre and Frogmore Leisure Centre, run by Everyone Active in partnership with Hart District Council, reopened on Monday 12 April after more than three months of closure due to the UK wide lockdown.
The new reopening measures, including one-way systems, enhanced cleaning regimes and structured sessions have once again been received with great positivity from members.
Numbers through the doors show that members were keen to get active again, with an influx of new customers joining and more than 3,700 gym visits at the centres last week.
The pool at Hart Leisure Centre received hundreds of swimming visits and had more than 1,700 junior swimming lessons booked during its opening week.
Luke Charlton, Contract Manager at Everyone Active, commented: “The response we’ve received from our members has been overwhelmingly positive and we’re so pleased to see many new and returning customers through our doors.
“We are also looking forward to being able to open even more facilities, such as our group exercise classes, in the next step of the Government road map.”
Patricia Hughes, Joint Chief Executive at Hart District Council, added: “My thanks to Everyone Active for making sure that they have the best measures in place to keep our residents safe. Leisure centres play an important part in the health and wellbeing of our community and we are looking forward to more of the excellent facilities being reopened as the lockdown eases.”
