Council statement on review of military lands usage

Aldershot & District Military Lands Byelaws 1976 is one of the four Byelaws which set out a number of restrictions on the use of land in Hampshire, Surrey and Berkshire.

The Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), part of the MoD responsible for the built and rural estate, is proposing new bylaws for these lands which could affect public access.

Hart District Council is concerned that any changes do not prevent residents from enjoying these lands and limit the freedom to roam.

A cross-party group of councillors has written to Mr Graham Dalton, Chief Executive of the DIO, expressing these concerns. Read the letter in full.
