Caol singerNational Carol Singing Initiative Carols on the Doorstep  - 5:30pm on Sunday 20 December -  n partnership with Premier Christian Radio - Tune into Premier Christian Radio (either DAB, Freeview TV channel 725, online at or click on the Carols on the Doorstep link and sing along to the carols on your doorstep with others down your street.  The carol sheet is available for you to print out.  This is an event for all the family,  why not wear your Christmas jumpers, festive headwear and give your little angels and shepherds shepherds something to jingle and shake along to the carols.

Christmas Market - Saturday 12 December, 10-1:30pm, The Key -  Food and craft stalls.

Christmas Market - Saturday 5 and 12 December, 10-3pm in Birchayes Car Park (Branksomewood Road) & Gurkha Square - Food, gifts, homeware, candles, eco-friendly products and much more. Experience the magic with Santa, Snow & Singers and come along to support small local businesses. Socially distanced guidelines to ensure safety.

Vegan Market - Saturday 19 December 1--3pm  in Birchayes Car Park (Branksomewood Road)

The Christmas lights were switched on Saturday 27 November - Take a look at the virtual Christmas Light Switch on by none other than Father Christmas himself.

St John's C of E Church

  • Christmas in the Dark - Saturday 5 December at 4pm - a service of reflection for those who have loved and lost.
  • Christmas Carol Extravaganza - Saturday 19 December at 11:15 am - Join Martin for a fun Christmas carol extravaganza!  Grab a take-away coffee from the shop and enjoy an hour of corny jokes and Christmas music on the organ. This is a ticketed event to ensure safe numbers.
  • Carol Service and Concert - Sunday 20 December at 4pm and 6pm - Join together and listen to many of our favourite carols being safely sung by a small live ensemble on our behalf in the candlelit church.  This is a ticketed event to ensure safe numbers.
  • Contemporary Carols - Sunday 20 December at 7pm ( live streamed)
  • Christmas Eve Family Nativity - Thursday 24 December at 3pm and 5pm - Prepare for Christmas Day with a family Christmas Nativity!  Why not come dressed up as your favourite character from the Christmas story? This is a ticketed event to ensure safe numbers.
  • Christmas Eve Communion - Thursday 24 December at 11:30pm - Start Christmas Day with a midnight communion service in the church, held in a COVID safe manner. This is a ticketed event to ensure safe numbers.
  • Christmas Day Family Service - Friday 25 December at 10am - Why not join us on Christmas Day for a short, family friendly Christmas morning service to remember the reason for the season? This is a ticketed event to ensure safe numbers.

Christmas FayreHook

  • Hook Nativity Scavenger Hunt  - Thursday 3 to Sunday 20 December - Find traditional nativity figures hidden in shops and windows . Further information and to register.
  • Hook Artisan Christmas Fair  - Saturday 12  December, 1-5pm in Hook Community Centre.  £1 entry fee for all adults, children are free.

The event is to raise funds for In Aimee’s Name, a local Hook charity that give grants, awards and funding to local young people, as well as helping to provide financial assistance youth organisations to achieve their aims. 30 stalls booked in with us with a large variety of products including gifts, baked goods/preserves, Christmas decor and a gazebo with Christmas trees for purchase outside.  Santa's grotto too. Christmas Crow Competition - 12-25 December - A socially distanced walk around the village to view Christmas themed scarecrows.

Please note, there are sadly no Carols in the Bury or Midnight Communion in Odiham this year, due to Covid restrictions.  However, the following services will be taking place:

Magical Christmas trail - 13 December - 6 January - in Yateley, Frogmore and Derby Green - houses and gardens will be decorated in Christmas themes. There is a Facebook page for information and to request to join:

  • Carols on Your Doorstep - Sunday 20 Dec at 5:30pm - Linking in with Premier Radio, join us on your doorstep for a national carol sing with your neighbours.
  • The Nativity – What if a King were born In Yateley? -  Thursday 24 December at 5:00pm - Join us on Facebook or YouTube (look for St Peter’s Yateley) for the World Premier of a film wondering where a King would be born in Yateley! Where do you think?
  • Midnight Communion - Thursday 24 December at 11:30pm - Join us online for a special service in the ancient chapel of St Peters to welcome Christmas Day.
  • Christmas Carol Countdown - in aid of St Peter's Community Hub. Each day of December, musicians from across Yateley  will be performing a carol online for you to enjoy or sing along to. Carols will be available to watch on Facebook and on our Website. Do join us each day as we Countdown to Christmas!
  • Online Christmas Shop - purchase from a selection of handmade gifts and support their Community Hub  ( Cafe46, Discoveries and Cornerstone Counselling) at the same time.
