Making an Application
Increase in planning application fees came into force on 17th January 2018
The Government has increased the planning fees by 20%. The new fees came into effect on 17th January 2018. This also introduced a fee for works that need planning permission by reason of an Article 4 Direction [3] or the withdrawal of permitted development rights by planning condition.
It is often easier and quicker to apply via the Planning Portal [4]. It will provide guidance along the way and help you use the correct form. Alternatively you can download a form below. You may also want to look at the relevant check list (below), to ensure you provide all the information required.
Most applications require a fee, please use the fee calculator [5] or download the full list [6] to find out how much you need to pay. There are certain applications that are free, these include applications for listed buildings and 'free gos'.
Please note that if you are proposing to submit an application involving additional new homes, the Council has issued new guidance [7] on the need to provide for mitigation in relation to the Thames Basin Heaths Special Protection Area. This should be read in conjunction with the existing Thames Basin Heaths Interim Avoidance Strategy.
