Festive bin collections

Unless adverse weather affects bin rounds, there will be no changes to bin collections this year. This is because Christmas Day and Boxing Day fall at the weekend. Please put your bin out on your usual collections day in the week of Monday 27 December 2021.

Household waste - black bins

For the first collection only after Christmas we will collect extra rubbish sacks left by your black bin.

Recycling - blue bin

We always collect extra clean and dry recycling as long as it is placed in a cardboard box next to your bin or inside a clear plastic bag.

Please ensure large cardboard is flattened next to your bin.

Wrapping paper cannot be recycled, so please put it in your black waste bin.

Glass recycling - green box/red bin

We will not take extra glass waste please take this to a glass recycling bank or save for next collection and do not overfill your glass box.

Garden waste

Garden waste collection service update: Thursday 13 January 2022

We are sorry to say that owing to staff absences, we have taken the difficult decision to suspend the fortnightly garden waste collection service, to enable our bin collection crews to focus on the core waste and recycling services, where there is currently a backlog of collections

Collections will not take place from Monday 17 January.

We understand that this suspension will be frustrating for some of our customers, particularly those wanting to have their real Christmas tree collected. They will be collected when the service resumes or can be taken to one of the 4 recycling site listed above

Find out more about the suspension here www.hart.gov.uk/garden-waste

Christmas tree recycling

There will be four real Christmas tree recycling drop-off points from Monday 3 January to Sunday 30 January 2022.

  • Hook - Crossways Manor Car Park (next to Whitewater Surgery)
  • Ewshot - Ewshot Village Hall, Tadpole Lane
  • Fleet - Church Road Car Park
  • Yateley - Yateley Town Council Offices, Reading Road

Please don't take artificial trees, decorations, or trees over 1.8m (can be cut in half).

Don't forget if you’re a garden waste service customer, we’ll take your real Christmas tree away after the festivities. Simply place it outside on your usual garden waste collection day. Trees over 6ft tall will need to be cut in half.
