Fleet BID

The Fleet Business Forum have developed proposals to introduce a Business Improvement District (BID) within Fleet town centre. You can read more about Fleet BID in this leaflet.

During March 2017 businesses went to ballot on introducing a BID in Fleet.

On 24 March 2017 it ws announced that businesses in Fleet have voted in favour of Fleet becoming a Business Improvement District.

Summary of the results:

  • Voter turnout: 126 (37% turnout) 
  • Votes in favour: 87 (69%) 
  • Aggregate rateable value of those voting yes: 64%

What is A BID?

A Business Improvement District (BID) is a business-led and funded partnership working to implement projects that benefit an area and its businesses. It is set for a period of 5 years and operates within a defined geographical area.

A BID can only be implemented following a ballot of all businesses within the defined BID area.

Fleet Business Forum has requested that Hart District Council undertake a BID ballot.
