Audit and Inspection Letter and Plans

In addition to the Comprehensive Performance Assessment (CPA), the council undergoes a range of additional inspections and audits. These assess the performance of individual services through Service Inspections, and corporate governance issues such as financial and performance management.

An annual Audit and Inspection Letter is received from the Audit Commission. Recommendations from the annual Audit and Inspection Letter influence the Audit and Inspection Plan for subsequent years. The Audit and Inspection Plan details the areas of council operation which will be scrutinised by the auditors during the year.
