Council Tax Benefit - Help us to help you
We want to deal with your claim as quickly as possible so that you receive the Benefit to which you are entitled promptly. For us to achieve this, it is essential that you:
- Complete the application form fully in black ink, answering all the questions that you are required to complete, (writing 'none' where appropriate).
- If you need more room, write the question number and your answer on a separate sheet of paper, sign and date the separate sheet and securely fix it to the form.
- Sign and date the application form where indicated, if applicable your partner must also sign the application.
- Send in with your application form all the evidence that is required.(original documents)
Do NOT DELAY - Benefit will normally start from the Monday following the date we receive you application form.
We must see all necessary original documents and your completed application form before Housing or Council Tax Benefit can be correctly calculated. The Council will take care of your documents and return them promptly to you.
It is very important that your name and current address are included with any documents that you send into this office.
