Transparency
The Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government wrote to all local authorities asking them to publish items of spending over £500. This section provides that information.
The list of expenditure includes payments for goods and services, grants to third party providers and expenses. Certain payments, for example to private individuals, have been redacted under the Freedom of Information and Data Protection Acts.
Exclusions from the list include the following items (not exhaustive):
- Banking Investments
- Parish precepts (published elsewhere)
- Election staff payment
- Salary advances
- Refunds
- Member Allowances (published elsewhere)
- Payments relating to employee remuneration
- Payments relating to benefits and homelessness payments
The Downloads Panel (to the right) includes spending data in both text comma seperated values (.txt) format and in Portable Document (.pdf) format . The .txt file allows the data to be imported into a spreadsheet for further analysis. The .pdf file is provided for general viewing without the need for a spreadsheet.
