Community Infrastructure Policy
(Section 106 Agreements)
New development often creates a need for additional infrastructure or improved community services and facilities. Planning obligations are the mechanism used to secure these measures. A planning obligation is a legal agreement between the planning authority and the applicant/developer and any others that may have an interest in the land. The agreements are made under Section 106 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (as amended).
The Community Infrastructure Policy, sets out the Council’s overall approach towards the collection of contributions towards education, leisure and open space, the Thames Basin Heaths Special Protection Area and transport. The accompanying maps to this policy are available to download on the right hand side of the page, along with a S106 template.
