The quickest and easiest way to make a planning application is by applying online via the Planning Portal, however you can still download the application forms or we can send the forms to you on request. With each type of application there is a checklist to fill in, to be included as part of the submission. This is to enable the correct and relevant information to be submitted and to avoid delays when processing the application.
We would encourage you to use the Planning Portal, a national website provided by the Department for Communities and Local Government. The website is designed to help you complete and submit your application in the most efficient way, it has a number of advantages:
- step by step process and online help function
- immediate delivery and email acknowledgement
- online record of your complete applications
- savings on postage and printing costs
The Planning Portal allows you to:
- create a Site Location Plan to support your planning application
- calculate the Fee for your planning application
- calculate the Area and Volume of your works
The council has adopted a revised local application checklist for applications received from 1st December 2010. This website will be updated to reflect these changes. In the meantime the revised checklist can be found here to allow applicants to prepare for the changes.
