Urban Characterisation and Density SPD
An Urban Characterisation and Density Study (UCDS) has been prepared as an LDF evidence base study by The Conservation Studio on behalf of Hart District Council. It is proposed that UCDS will be adopted as a set of Supplementary Planning Documents, for each of the six main settlements the UCDS covers:
- Fleet, Elvetham Heath and Church Crookham
- Odiham
- Hook
- Hartley Wintney
- Blackwater
- Yateley
Additional details on the UCDS can be found on the Urban Characterisation and Density Study webpage.
The aim of adopting the six SPDs is to formalise the design guidance set out in the UCDS and support the broad design objectives of the emerging LDF Core Strategy.
Within the UCDS, each of the six settlements has been divided into Neighbourhood Areas which have in turn been sub-divided into Character Areas, which reflect historical development, activities, layout and architectural form. It is the intention that the SPDs will aid and inform the development of any subsequent community-led Neighbourhood Plans in the six settlements.
It is proposed that the six SPDs will be consulted upon, in conjunction with the draft Core Strategy, in summer 2011. Details on a Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report supporting the SPDs can be found on the Sustainability Appraisal and Strategic Environmental Assessment webpage.
