Development Plan Documents

Development Plan Documents (DPDs) are part of the Local Development Framework (LDF) and contain policies and proposals that will help guide future development in the District.

No Development Plan Documents have been completed by Hart District Council as yet, but as these are adopted, they will replace the saved policies in the Hart District Local Plan.

There are currently two DPDs underway - the Core Strategy DPD and an Open Space DPD.  Further Development Plan Documents will be prepared after the Core Strategy to allocate non-strategic sites and set out new development management policies.  These will be prepared after the Core Strategy.

Development Plan Documents are subject to public consultation and are examined by an independent inspector before they can be adopted.  They are also subject to Sustainability Appraisal and Strategic Environmental Assessment to ensure that the principles of sustainable development are taken into account.
