The Development Plan sets out the policy framework to guide development in the District and is used to determine planning applications.
The Development Plan for Hart is currently made up of several different documents:
- Saved Policies fromThe Hart District Local Plan (Replacement) adopted 23rd December 2002 and The First Alterations to the Hart District Local Plan (Replacement) Adopted 22 June 2006;
- Draft policy on Developer Contributions towards Leisure and Open Space Facilities July 2012 – approved on 1 November 2012 by Cabinet as interim planning policy for development control purposes.
- Policy NRM6: Thames Basin Heaths Special Protection Area of the South East Plan (Regional Spatial Strategy for the South East of England)
- Relevant policies and proposals in Hampshire Minerals and Waste plans – for up to date information visit the Hampshire County Council web page.
The Council is preparing, and has submitted for examination, a Local Plan: Core Strategy 2011-2029 which is a material consideration in the determination of planning applications. This will replace many of the ‘saved’ policies mentioned above in the first bullet.
National planning policy and guidance, Statutory Instruments and Circulars are also taken into account, which can be viewed on the Communities and Local Government website.
You may also wish to visit the Supplementary Planning Information web page which sets out planning guidance that accompanies the Local Plan and will be considered in the determination of planning applications.
