The Development Plan sets out the policy framework to guide development in the District and is used to determine planning applications. The Development Plan for Hart is currently made up of several different documents:
- The Regional Spatial Strategy for the South East (South East Plan)
- Saved Policies (pdf 2.37MB)from The Hart District Local Plan (Replacement) adopted 23rd December 2002 and The First Alterations to the Hart District Local Plan (Replacement) Adopted 22 June 2006;
- Relevant policies and proposals in Hampshire Minerals and Waste plans – for up to date information visit the Hampshire County Council web page.
National policy guidance in the form of Planning Policy Statements, Planning Policy Guidance notes, Statutory Instruments and Circulars are also taken into account, which can be viewed on the Communities and Local Government website.
The Council is currently preparing a Local Development Framework, a suite of documents which will replace saved polices in the Local Plan.
Further guidance can be found on our Supplimentary Planning Information webpage.
