Woman Fined for Yateley Hall Tree Felling
A YATELEY woman has been ordered by Aldershot magistrates to pay more than £1000 after she admitted causing or permitting topping, lopping and wilful damage to protected trees at Yateley Hall, a Listed Building .
Frances Ford (67) ,from neighbouring Wistaria Lane was fined £250 with Hart Council awarded £750 costs and she was ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge.
Welcoming the penalty Robert Jackson, Hart Development Control Manager, said: “We are pleased that the court has recognised t he seriousness of this offence. The Council seeks to protect the environment in a number of ways, including with Tree Preservation Orders.
“We hope others will take this as a warning that the Council takes this sort of thing very seriously.”
