Ex-Chairman’s Charity Cheque Handover
LAST year’s Hart District Council Chairman, Cllr Denis Gotel has handed over cheques for £11046.50 to Naomi House Children’s Hospice –the amount raised by his Chairman’s Charity during his year of office.
Cllr Gotel said that his eldest daughter Caroline and her partner Alan Greenfield had helped boost the charity by raising funds at their places of work –Johnston & Johnston of Maidenhead and Southern and Scottish Electric in London.
“I am delighted to be able to contribute so much to help the children’s hospice through what is an extremely difficult period,” he said.
“The charity has some £5 million locked up in an Icelandic bank at a time when it is in the process of building a new, purposely designed extension to the facilities at Sutton Scotney. To be known as Jack’s Place it will cater for the needs of older children.”
