The Shape of Things to Come
Three new parishes for Fleet, Church Crookham and Elvetham Heath
FOLLOWING the recent ballot in the unparished areas in Fleet and Church Crookham Hart Council voted to set up three new parish councils.
They will comprise, Fleet, Church Crookham and Elvetham Heath.
The only area with an uncertain future is the Fleet Courtmoor ward. Here a second ballot will be held offering electors the choice of going in with either Church Crookham or Fleet.
The large Ancells estate will join Fleet parish –this will include part of the estate that is currently in Blackwater and Hawley parish.
The Council also approved realignment of the eastern boundary of Zebon ward of Crookham Village parish so that houses in the same street will all be part of the same parish.
A small area of Lea Green will be transferred from Crookham Village to the new Fleet parish.
The changes will also affect Crondall where the northern part of Ewshot ward will join Church Crookham. Crondall Parish Council has been asked to decide by May 31 whether it wants to remain as it is or split into two new parishes of Crondall and Ewshot.
No changes to Frogmore & Darby Green ward will be made without support from local residents.
Both Yateley and Blackwater and Hawley town councils will be asked to decide by June 30 whether they wish to continue with their present boundaries (minus part of Ancells) or continue to explore a merger.
Decisions on the three major outstanding issues will be made in the autumn. Elections for the new parish councils are earmarked for 2010.
