Dental Boost for Fleet
THE Chairman of Hart Health Board, Cllr Susan Band has welcomed the news that 3000-4000 new National Health Service dental patient slots have become available at Elvetham Heath in Fleet.
Cllr Band said the Health Board had been pushing for more NHS funding for Fleet for more than a year.
She said: “I am very pleased that the additional NHS funding has been given to Elvetham Dental Centre allowing it to more than double its number of patients and that the dental centre has both the capacity and trained staff to take those patients.
“This is very good news for the people of Fleet, who have been complaining for a long time about the shortage of dentists and the difficulties of registering for NHS treatment.”
The decision to give extra funding was taken by Hampshire Primary Care Trust to reduce treatment waiting times in the area.
