Hart Healthy Workplace Awards
Six of the Best!
SIX Hart employers have scooped awards for the caring way in which they look after their workforces.
They were presented with their Hart Healthy Workplace awards by Hart Chairman, Cllr Sharyn Wheale at a special event at the Four Seasons Hotel in Dogmersfield today.
The award scheme is in its third year and preparations are already under way for the 2010 competition.
Two of the award winners from the inaugural event in 2007 had not sat on their laurels and had continued to make improvements for their staff. Waitrose (Yateley) and the Four Seasons Hotel each took the top Gold Award.
A brand new entrant - the Park Health Club from Titchener Park, Hook also took the highest award. The club says that its raison d’etre is health and that also applies to the way in which it looks after its staff. The confidential feedback from the staff was strikingly supportive.
Datanet from Fleet won a bronze award last time out –this time they achieved Gold. Among their new initiatives were systems to deal effectively and confidentially with stress in the workplace. This is becoming more of an issue as workforces become slimmer while workloads continue upwards.
Monsoon restaurant from Hartley Wintney, a winner in 2007, achieved a silver.
The scheme is run by three partners –Hart District Council, North Hampshire Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Hampshire Primary Care trust.
The project is sponsored by Frimley Park Hospital and the presentation event was sponsored by the Four Seasons Hotel.
Hart’s Cabinet member for Health and Housing, Cllr Susan Band praised the winners for their efforts for their staff at a time of economic difficulties.
She told them: “Your companies will benefit –doing something like this keeps companies together.”
