Fleet Road Waiting Scheme Review

HART District Council is to review the operation of the lay-bys in Fleet Road, Fleet and to consider possible improvements. It has asked the Stilwell Partnership to prepare proposals.

The current scheme was introduced as part of town centre improvements four years ago to provide better loading and unloading facilities, reduce congestion and improve road safety. It has been successful in reducing congestion and improving road safety. Unfortunately, however, the system has been misunderstood by some motorists.

The revised scheme has been designed to maintain traffic flow and pedestrian and cycle safety whilst providing for all users of Fleet Road.

Proposed amendments are currently being consulted on with exhibition boards on display in the Hart Council Offices until January 7. The boards can also be viewed on the Hart District Council (www.hart.gov.uk) or the Stilwell Partnership websites (www.stilwell-ltd.co.uk)
