New parishes agreed
Hart District Council last night (Thursday) applied the finishing touches to how the district will look following the recent parish review. They will come into force at the 2010 local elections.
FLEET
The major change will be in Fleet and Church Crookham, which has hitherto not had a parish or town council.
The council agreed last night that the Courtmoor ward should be included in Fleet parish rather than Church Crookham parish. This follows a recent public consultation in the ward.
The new council will have 19 members –five for Fleet Central, four each for Pondtail, Calthorpe ( new ward) and Courtmoor plus two for the new ward of Ancells.
CHURCH CROOKHAM
This new parish will have ten councillors –six from Church Crookham East, three from the new Gally Hill parish ward and one from another new ward to be known as Queen Elizabeth.
ELVETHAM HEATH
The new parish council will have five members.
BLACKWATER and HAWLEY
The reformed parish council will have eight members against seven before. It loses its current Ancells ward but there will be two extra representatives from Hawley and Minley ward.
YATELEY
Yateley Town Council loses a member in Frogmore and Darby Green –the new council will have 16 members from the elections in 2011.
CRONDALL
Because part of Ewshot (the former military area) has now been added to Church Crookham the new Ewshot ward will have one fewer councillor (four) while Crondall increases from seven to eight.
The whole question of a separate parish for Ewshot will be subject to a Hart run consultation exercise in both Ewshot and Crondall.
A number of minor alterations in parishes throughout the district were agreed earlier.
Hart’s own boundaries remain unchanged.
